We approach this according to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principle. Job content
As Senior Purchasing Manager "Chemicals" you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies and initiatives for the "Chemicals" product portfolio, mainly organic, chemical products ( finished products and raw materials).
- Searching, identifying and developing new, suitable suppliers and managing and developing the relationship with already existing suppliers
- Evaluating information and offers from suppliers and making recommendations to achieve the best results, based on a TCO principle.
- Negotiating the best price and delivery time for assigned products as well as identifying opportunities for discounts, indemnities and reimbursements from suppliers.
- Manage and support the entire contract lifecycle management for respective suppliers ranging from drafting and negotiation, through contract management to renewal
- Supporting the team in quality control of suppliers. ( info gathering, site inspection, supporting audit , annual assessments ...)
- Communicating effectively with suppliers, as well as internal stakeholders to ensure timely and quality deliveries from suppliers with attention to keep working capital as low as possible
- Maintaining supplier relationships with an eye on sustainability, (delivery) security, and supplier innovations
The desired profile
- You have a master degree in a chemical or commercial field or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the chemical sector
- You are customer oriented and can negotiate well
- You have excellent analytical and project management skills, both on an operational and strategic level.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including proven ability to network and build cross-cultural relationships in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
- You can work fluently with MS Office applications, including excell, SAP - PO and Supplier Management.
- You function very well both independently and in a team.
- You are proactive, dynamic, looking for improvements.
- You work accurately, structured and have an eye for detail.
- You communicate strongly and you have the necessary powers of persuasion.
- You have a very good knowledge of Dutch and English. Knowledge of an additional European language is an advantage.
