Research Engineer – Printing Imaging

In a team of engineers, you will explore how to improve the image quality of Agfa printing equipment. Your task is to thoroughly understand the various customer applications needs & inkjet-specific imaging challenges. You take full ownership of the design, implementation and verification of these algorithms, share and communicate your ideas and implementations within the broader R&D team and the rest of the organization. You will play a crucial role in maximizing quality of the applications of the Agfa customers.

Job description:

• Take full ownership of image processing algorithms for inkjet printing: concept & design, prototyping, developing robust production quality algorithms, support
• Be the key contact towards the broader organization for your solutions
• Follow up state of the art research, collaborate with academic and Agfa partners
• Participate in key customer workshops to gather initial feedback
• Proactively look for new quality improvements in the whole inkjet imaging process.

Requested profile and skills:

• Academic background in image processing, physics or mathematics: Master, PhD or equivalent by experience
• Affinity with printing imaging is an asset
• Team player, good communication skills
• Good documentation skills
• Experience in programming is an asset: Python, CUDA, C++, TensorFlow
