Logistics and Transportation Support Manager

 

Responsibilities:

You supervise and manage the daily operations with our internal and external logistic partners for warehousing and transportation:

  • You keep track of quality, on time performance, transport costs and efficiencies.
  • You liaise and negotiate with and between external and internal partners.
  • You take decisions balancing KPI’s and logistic costs. To do this you proactively follow the order flows to key transport lanes/destinations.
  • You direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
  • You manage warehousing activities and align these to the transport planning and transportation activities.
  • You resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • You meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • You maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance of the complete logistic cycle
  • You provide a pro-active and comprehensive service to our internal customers.
  • You will design and implement improved processes on a project basis like new network designs, support and implementation of tender results, new IT tools or processes. Coaching and training internal and external stakeholders is part of this.
  • You act as the company expert with regard to dangerous goods for all modes of transportation (ADR, IMO, IATA).


Requirements and skills

  • You have a bachelor or master degree in supply chain management or equivalent by experience.
  • You have min. 5 years proven working experience in logistics/transportation in an international environment with knowledge in warehousing, sea, air, road and express transportation.
  • You have IMO/ADR/IATA certifications or are open to obtain these.
  • You have a strong customer orientation, and you are a good communicator with good interpersonal skills and commercial feeling.
  • You are a digital oriented person and are proficient with common Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel), standard logistics software (WMS), SAP (Sales and distribution) and reporting tools (PowerBI).
  • You have excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • You work independently and handle multiple priorities at the same time.
  • You are pragmatic in your actions.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English is required, good knowledge of French is nice to have. 
  • You are open to travel (up to 10%).
