Recently, Agfa's Zirfon UTP 220 won the essenscia innovation award. This was a culmination of the innovative strides we make every day as a team in the hydrogen market. Today Agfa is a world leader with Zirfon as a membrane for the production of green hydrogen via alkaline electrolysis and of course we want to remain so. Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic development project manager who can ensure the successful scale-up of new Zirfon developments as well as develop innovative production processes to expand the Zirfon production capacity to 20GW.

• You are responsible for the upscaling of new Zirfon membranes for which concepts were developed by your R&D colleague. You take into account the constraints for formulations in terms of legislation, safety, sustainability, health and environment, third party patent rights and cost.
• You independently develop membrane materials based on the unique Agfa technology platform or current technology according to the R&D procedure.
• You translate functional requirements into technical specifications. You plan and initiate experiments, formulate, execute and interpret.
• You closely follow all steps of the production process and make a process description for transfer to production.
• You ensure quality production by proactively addressing quality issues in consultation with PFM, production, engineering, business, research and application.
• You work project-wise following the stage-gate development process and organize project meetings with a multidisciplinary team to discuss project progress.
• You regularly report the status and further planning of research work in technical forums and project meetings.
• You safeguard safety and health aspects within your work area.
• You follow the state of the art regarding your research area and contribute to the patent portfolio through new patent proposals and experimental patent application support.
• You implement relevant, efficient and safe testing methods.

Job Requirements

• You have a Master/PhD degree in Engineering or Bioengineering or Science (or equivalent through experience). Experience with membrane synthesis and/or applications is a plus.
• You have knowledge of product development and are well versed in chemical and physical material properties.
• You have good organizational skills and are able to work out a project independently within the framework of new product development and take the necessary initiatives for this.
• You cooperate smoothly in a multidisciplinary project team, both with internal and external stakeholders and have good reporting skills.
• You deal efficiently with changing circumstances and project priorities.
• You are stress resistant, persistent and result and customer oriented.
• You are analytical, strong in problem analysis and have good adaptability.
• You have a focus on systematic, neat and safe work.
• You are willing to travel occasionally for short periods of time.
• You have good communication skills.
