General Ledger Accountant

Inca Digital Printers, part of the Agfa-Gevaert Group within the Digital Print and Chemicals Division, a leading global supplier of class leading industrial digital ink jet printers, has a vacancy for a General Ledger UK Accountant within the Finance Department.

As General Ledger Accountant you will support the GFS Manager with the processing of the Cambridge based entities and provide cover for other UK and Ireland as required to meet all local and group reporting requirements. You have a holistic view of the organisation and general ledger processes.

This role is essential for financial reporting and requires the liaison between various departments and individuals across the organisation.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and approval of non-rule based accounting entries
• Assist in closing activities
• Assisting with both internal and external audits
• Reviewing payment runs
• Maintaining and updating fixed asset registers
• Managing the intercompany recharge requirements
• Assist in statutory compliance (annual accounts, VAT, Intrastat, CIT, Statistics,….)
• Exemplify a culture of working as “one company”

Knowledge and Experience

• Recently qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or with BSC in relevant subject and studying towards professional qualification. Relevant experience in a similar or Financial Accountant role may also considered
• You have knowledge of the main IFRS regulations and knowledge of UK GAAP rules
• Good knowledge of UK tax, audit and regulatory requirements
• You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Visual Basic) and working knowledge of accounting software (Infor or SAP desirable)
• You are process oriented
• You consistently deliver work of a high standard of quality, precision and according to standards, procedures, rules, regulations and expectations
• You have strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mind-set
