1. Internships for Belgian students

Your profile :  

  • You are a student (+18yr) following higher education in a Belgian school or university
  • Dutch is your native language and you are fluent in English
  • You are a good communicator, team player and eager to learn

  • We welcome interns the whole year through
  • The internship should be for a minimum of 3 months and your school or university has to support the project and provide us the contract.

2. Internships for international students : DISCOVERY

Discovery Program

Through its Discovery program Agfa welcomes young talents from Europe and the world interested in an international internship. Research trainees can apply for internships in the field of advanced materials science & technology, process and application development, and software development in the areas of imaging, digital industrial printing, sustainable ecological systems, or healthcare database systems.

  • Discover the thrill of Discovery in your specific area of interest with the focus on advanced materials, formulation, engineering, application and software research.
  • Have a chance to learn from our brightest researchers and technologists.
  • Team up with other talented students and trainees from top universities in Europe and the world.

Requirements :

  • you need to be enrolled at the univeristy at least during the time of the internship
  • your internship is mandatory
  • you are a European or non-European student going to a European university

Advanced Materials Design

Discover the thrill of Discovery in your specific area of interest with the focus on advanced materials, formulation and product, process & system engineering.

  • Polymer, dye and supramolecular synthesis, analytics and technology
  • Formulation research in coatings, nanopigments, inks and functional fluids
  • Study of the behaviour of chemical systems related to printing and imaging processes (e.g. inkjet, offset, flexo, medical diagnosis)

If you are a student who…

  • is studying for a Master’s degree in the following disciplines of Material, Polymer Science and Technology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • has a good working knowledge of English (preferred results are min TOEIC 750, min TOEFL 520, CAE C or local advanced examinations, if known)
  • has obtained good academic results
  • is ready to give oneself the opportunity to experience a challenging training project with Agfa Discovery for at least 6 months and preferably 12.

Information Technologies

  • Image Processing
  • Software for publishing and prepress
  • Software for medical applications

If you are a student who….

  • is studying for a Master’s degree in the following disciplines of Optical Engineering, Image processing or ICT
  • has a good working knowledge of English (preferred results are min TOEIC 750, min TOEFL 520, CAE C or local advanced examinations, if known)
  • has obtained good academic results
  • is ready to give oneself the opportunity to experience a challenging training project with Agfa Discovery for at least 6 months and preferably 12.

Applications Research

Discovery projects can be offered in the following research areas:

  • Applied research on Computer-to-Plate
  • Applied research on Inkjet Systems

  • is studying for a Master’s degree in the following disciplines: chemical engineering, mechanical- and software engineering, commercial engineering.
  • has a good working knowledge of English (preferred results are min TOEIC 750, min TOEFL 520, CAE C or local advanced examinations, if known)
  • has obtained good academic results
  • is ready to give oneself the opportunity to experience a challenging training project with Agfa Discovery for at least 6 months and preferably 12.
