Agfa HealthCare is currently looking for a talented Verification and Validation Engineer with automation experience to join the R&D team in Waterloo. This is a hybrid environment 

 

Validation and Verification of Products and Solutions according to new customer requirements. The provided Solutions contain products from different competence centres and/or 3rd party and will be validated through internal testing, followed by testing in a production and field environment.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Verification & Validation Engineer - Solution Test Team you are responsible for:

 

  • Implementing the Verification and Validation Plan according policies & processes
  • Creating manual and automated test Suites and Tools covering the technical requirements of products and solutions and ensuring the proper documentation of test results
  • Executing Test Suites, internally in a lab environment by a simulation of a real clinical environment.
  • Analyzing the outcome of testing, reporting and discussing of the technical issues to the R&D competence centres and providing proposals for solutions
  • Technical DRA (Design Readiness Assessment) site assessment and advice to Marketing and Service in the selection of the DRA site
  • Technical ownership of the DRA during the set-up and maintenance of a Clinical Validation
  • Decision advice to release solutions based on the results of the testing and according to the quality and regulatory standards
  • Technical advice and support of the regional organization related to regional solutions, demos and events. Develop course content for technical training on new solutions
  • Supporting the Service organization in first deployments of new/updates installation of software in the field.Transferring overall technical knowledge to the regional Service and Sales organization
  • Attend Agfa product-training, underlying technologies courses and maintain an expert working knowledge of targeted products and solutions

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor or master’s degree - Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare IT or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience

 

  • Healthcare Knowledge:
    • Advanced knowledge of current IT and Healthcare technologies and basic understanding of hospital departmental workflows
    • Knowledge of PACS/RIS, medical imaging and workflows is an asset

 

  • Testing Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of software testing standards
    • Writing tests, both in Java and JavaScript or Typescript
    • Writing UI driven tests and an understanding of the HTML DOM
    • Working with one or more test frameworks. (If the frameworks include Selenium, Protractor and Playwright This is an asset)
    • Cyber Security Testing
    • Performance Testing

 

  • IT-Knowledge:
    • Expert in operating systems at admin level (Linux, Unix, Windows)
    • Knowledge of databases – preferably Oracle
    • Knowledge of Web: browsers & mobile devices
    • Experience with scripting and programming languages (Java, SQL, Python, TCL, XML, ASP, Perl, etc.)
    • In depth knowledge and experience in computer hardware and connectivity issues (Network-switches, NAS-SAN Storage solutions, Networking, Cloud)
