Agfa HealthCare, is currently hiring an experienced Integration and Advanced Customization Engineer.

The incumbent, will take on development of third party integrations and work on creating and consuming APIs for Enterprise Imaging, our flagship imaging software. These are using a variety of technologies, from web APIs, to FHIR interfaces and UI design. The engineer ensures each solution follows our design process, delivered on-time and on-budget. You will work with the R&D team to ensure our integration framework is adequate and advice and assist them in defining requirements for that framework. You will communicate and collaborate with other companies in defining interfaces, working to build a seamless end-user experience that extends our product portfolio.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Consult and design custom solutions that solve customer problems, bringing value to the customer using our solution to improve their operations
  • Ensure custom development projects adhere to R&D design and development processes
  • Work collaboratively with global development team as well as regional cross functional team to assess technical design
  • Adhere to coding standards and guidelines, review code, maintain excellent code quality and be proactive in identifying potential issues
  • Work closely with QA to ensure we have appropriate test processes in place and system adequately validated
  • Work to improve the internal design and release workflow, and improve the existing build infrastructure.




  • BS Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Computer Science or equivalent




  • 3+ years experience programming in any of of these lanuguages: C++, Java, C#.Net or Javascript, Python
  • Experience with web development frameworks is a plus (react/angular/vue.js)
  • Experience working with external partners to create custom solutions
  • Solid knowledge of web standards, best practices, and integration interfaces.
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time & communication skills


Specific Skills:


  • Experience in healthcare integrations is a definite plus
  • Strong background completing a variety of development projects in various languages
  • Track record of strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically working customer communication
  • Experience in healthcare industry, specifically interacting with physicians when identifying solutions or delivering solutions
  • Background in technical writing – specifically functional requirements and design specifications
