The Advanced Customization and Integration Engineer will take on Desktop integrations for Enterprise Imaging, our flagship imaging software. The engineer will also be working on other Professional Services Custom Engineering development projects, extending the software's functionality as requested. The engineer ensures each solution follows our design process, delivered on-time and on-budget. The engineer will work with the R&D team to ensure our integration framework is adequate and advice and assist them in defining requirements for that framework. The engineer will deliver custom solutions to customers meeting their requirements, timelines, and quality expectations by applying the latest software engineering technologies, standards, and best practices.

 

 

Under the direct manager, this position is both tactical, i.e. managing day to day activities for specific projects, and strategic, i.e. consulting with sales and Agfa customers on opportunities to provide custom development services and to solve customer business issues.

The engineer is part of a team that is geographically dispersed across North America (NA) and Europe (EMEA, namely Belgium and Netherlands) delivering Professional Services to Agfa HealthCare customers in all regions (EMEA, NA, LATAM, ASPAC). The team members must interact and collaborate very frequently on customer projects, but also on internal projects with other Professional Services resources.

 

Major responsibilities:

 

  • Take ownership for custom development services within Professional Services Solution Architects organization
  • Consult and design custom solutions that solve customer problems, bringing value to the customer using our solution to improve their operations
  • Ensure custom development projects adhere to Professional Services design and development process
  • Work collaboratively with global development teams as well as regional cross functional team to assess technical design
  • Work together with local deployment teams to deliver on time and meeting requirements
  • Work closely with QA to ensure we have appropriate test processes in place and system adequately validated
  • Work to improve the internal design and release workflow and to improve the existing build infrastructure.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

 

Experience:

 

  • 3+ years of experience programming in any of these languages: C++, Java, C#, or JavaScript
  • Experience working with customers to create custom solutions
  • Solid knowledge of web standards, best practices, and integration interfaces
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time & customer communication

 

Specific Skills:

 

  • Experience in healthcare integrations is a definite plus
  • Strong background developing applications on Windows and Linux/Unix OS using the programming languages mentioned above
  • Track record of strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically working customer communication
  • Experience in healthcare industry, specifically interacting with physicians when identifying solutions or delivering solutions
  • Background in technical writing - specifically functional requirements and design specifications
