Verification & Validation Engineer – Connectivity Specialist
Job summary
Validation and Verification of Products and Solutions according to new customer requirements. The provided Solutions contain products from different competence centers and/or 3rd party and will be validated through internal testing, followed by testing in a production and field environment.
Additionally you will be involved in the connectivity / interoperability testing of our RIS/PACS/Enterprise Imaging solutions towards products of OEM (Other External Manufacturers) and towards other Agfa products as well as publication of the Agfa DICOM/HL7/IHE Conformance Statements.
Responsibilities
As a Verification & Validation Engineer you are responsible for:
- Implementing the Verification and Validation Plan according to the overall V&V-process.
- Create and execute Verification and Validation Test Suites and Tools covering the technical requirements of products and solutions.
- Analyzing the outcome of testing, reporting and discussing of the technical issues to the R&D competence centers and providing proposals for solutions.
- Technical ownership of some sites during the set-up and maintenance of Design Readiness Assessment (DRA)
- Decision advice to release solutions based on the results of the testing and according to the quality and regulatory standards.
- Technical advice and support of the regional organization related to regional solutions, demos and events.
- Supporting the Service organization in first deployments of new packages in the field.
- Transferring overall technical knowledge to the regional Service and Sales organization.
As Connectivity Specialist you are responsible for :
- Perform Interoperability testing sessions (25%) with OEM (Other External Manufacturer) and internal testing at Agfa or at the OEM facility (e.g. Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France or other European countries).
- Update, Review and publish DICOM & HL7 Conformance Statements and IHE integration Statements for Agfa HealthCare IT products.
- Create and update Connectivity release documents based on the connectivity test logs/reports produced by the validation/connectivity specialist.
- Update the Interface Status Report Database with corresponding reports and prepare the Connectivity ISO file containing published Release document, ISR, DCS/HL7/IHE).
- Be the point of contact for all internal and external organizations (OEM’s) with respect to interoperability documentation.
Qualifications
- You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or similar by experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare communication standards such as DICOM, HL7 and IHE.
- IT-knowledge:
- You are an expert in operating systems at admin level (Linux, Windows, Networking)
- You have knowledge of databases and data storage.
- You have limited knowledge of scripting and programming.
- You have an in depth knowledge and experience in computer hardware and connectivity issues (network-switches, NAS-SAN storage solutions, …)
- Knowledge of PACS/RIS, medical imaging and workflows is an asset.
- You have at least 5 years of experience.
- You are a problem solver.

- You have good knowledge of MS office.
- You have excellent – written and spoken – knowledge of English.
- You must be willing to travel from time to time.
