Senior Developer / Architect – Patient Portal

 

For the development of a patient portal, we are currently seeking a senior developer / architect to join our team in Civitanova Marche, Italy.

The portal will allow hospitals worldwide to disclose their medical imaging information with patients and physicians.  As such, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a product that empowers patients worldwide. You embrace new technologies, are eager to learn, and are motivated knowing that what you are doing will save and improve lives.

 

Job summary

You combine the role of architect and senior developer.

 

As an architect, you are the key technical responsible for the development of the portal. Based on the requirements you get from the product manager, your role is to design and maintain a scaleable, future-proof architecture with focus on security and serviceability.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Drive the solution blueprint of the new portal
  • Translate the blueprint into actionable pieces of work for the developers
  • Ensure that the product meets the required security standards
  • Create and maintain documentation of the software architecture
  • Define platform/hardware sizing recommendations for implementations

 

As a senior developer, you actively participate in developing this new portal together with 2 more junior developers. Your challenge is to find the right balance for the team between moving forward quickly with new features and still maintaining a robust and maintainable codebase.

Your main responsibilities here include:

  • Write clear and structured code
  • Organize code reviews
  • Safeguard a decent test coverage
  • Coach 2 other developers
  • Provide reliable estimates for future development

 

You are working primarily at the office or home office, traveling is only required in exceptional cases.

 

Your profile

Your non-technical competences include

  • Self-motivated individual with strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • You have experience working with an agile methodology
  • You are a team player, with experience in coaching others
  • You have good troubleshooting capabilities and think analytically.
  • You work accurately in a structured way, with attention to safety and quality
  • You have the ability to work Independently.

 

Your technical competences include

  • University degree in IT or equivalent by experience
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of IT standards in healthcare: HL7, FHIR, DICOM
  • Experienced with LDAP, AD, SAML
  • Experience with integration engines like Rhapsody, Mirth are an asset
  • Excellent in UI and Web Development skills: HTML 5, JavaScript, XML, JQuery, CSS3, JSON, Bootstrap, PHP, Ajax
  • Experience of React, Angular or Vue is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows & Linux operating system
  • Advanced knowledge of databases (Oracle/MySql)
  • Experience with medical Imaging software, RIS, PACS or Enterprise Imaging Solutions is a bonus.
  • Experienced with version control systems - SVN, GIT.
  • Extensively worked on developing SOAP and REST based Applications.
