Field Service Engineer (PACS / RIS) – Egypt


This is an opportunity for PACS/RIS remote support engineer to be based in Egypt.


Responsible for properly managing customers in assigned region by providing the remote hardware and software support of Agfa HealthCare products together with implementation activities for ongoing projects.


Location: Home based, Egypt


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Escalate when necessary problems to 2nd and 3rd tier support
  • Perform preventive/corrective maintenance on equipment
  • Perform system administration as required.  Provides immediate response and prompt resolution to hardware and software problems to ensure customer uptime and satisfaction. 
  • Insures maximum uptime, performance and efficiency of all Agfa systems.
  • Installs software, hardware and executes performance analysis as needed. 
  • Assist internal and external customers (e.g. user, freelancer, colleagues from all business areas, HQ etc.) on-site and remotely on technical questions and issues
  • Identify opportunity for up-selling Agfa Services and Products and pass on up-selling opportunities to sales as required
  • Accountability for timely handling of issues, according to Agfa HE best practice procedures
  • Accountability for the appliance of best practice processes and procedures (idem GS)
  • Accountability for customer satisfaction on project implementation and issue handling (idem GS)
  • Accountability for being knowledgeable and up-to-date on latest Agfa HE products & solutions
  • Accountability for communicating required features
  • Accountability for meeting customer requirements within the scope of the SLA
  • Accountability for communicating required functions, competitive functions, products and market tendencies in order to develop Agfa HE products


Education: Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent qualification 



  • 2-5 years of experience in IT systems
  • 1-2 years of experience in RIS / PACS
  • Good Knowledge of Oracle DB management and advanced proficiency in SQL, Pl SQL or Java.
  • Wide range of IT technical skills (Windows or LINUX, VMWare, Storage, Networking, Oracle, Backup Systems, etc.)
  • Basic security principles (Windows or LINUX, Antivirus, etc.)
  • Healthcare Integration knowledge and global standards like HL7, DICOM desirable


Other Skills:

  • Able to communicate Fluently in English (speak/read/write)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems with software and hardware systems
  • Customer-orientated
  • Process focused, ability to follow procedures in a repeatedly to manner
  • Ability to document work and develop new procedures and templates that can be reused by other regions or team members
