Data Migration Architect

As part of the Data Migration Services team, the Data Migrations Architect is responsible for leading, directing, ensuring, and performing the successful delivery/support of image data migrations, which has a direct impact on sales success in Canada and the US.

The resource will work as part of a team to provide project, product and technical expertise in managing the execution of image data migration projects.

 

Ability to travel throughout the Canada and US, including overnight travel up to 10% of the time is required.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Data Migrations resource to perform migration services for difficult technical projects.
  • Mentor Team members by providing leadership, development and coaching
  • Provide expert advice on best practice migration solutions that satisfy customer requirements
  • Possesses a deep technical knowledge within a specific product related to radiology or cardiology such as Impax and/or another vendors pacs system.
  • Participates as a technical expert and architect for Data Migrations working with the customer and the AGFA Project Managers to perform data migrations.
  • Provides technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in the execution of data migrations.
  • Identifies and implements proactive data migration strategies that are aligned with corporate goals and our customer needs.
  • Understands and clearly communicates the implications of system functionality and technical changes and their impact on clinical and business operations within the hospital environment.
  • Communicate technical details and project status to Project Managers, customers, and Migration Team.
  • Research and manage sensitive technical issues encountered during the migration process.
  • Maintain close contact and share knowledge with the regions, knowledge centers, sales organizations and service departments.
  • Review and provide input on internal processes, in order to continue to build efficiencies.
  • Report any product or documentation issues
  • Ensure that migration projects are documented and all processes and checklists are followed

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years experience in technical integration in a complex IT solutions.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of networking, hardware and operating systems, databases, remote connectivity, security and image processing.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows XP, Unix, SQL, Oracle and other databases
  • Scripting knowledge such as XML, TCL, VB.NET is required
  • Good working knowledge of DICOM
  • Strong Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies (SAN/NAS)
  • Knowledge of data archiving technologies including tape, optical and hierarchical storage management (HSM) systems.
  • Experience with Windows NT/2000/XP, Solaris and other operating systems
  • Knowledge of Hospital workflows an asset
  • Knowledge of Agfa product and service offerings, specifically that integrate with IMPAX
