Agfa HealthCare has an open position for a talented Global Application Specialist to join its team in Waterloo

 

  • The Global Application Specialist resides in the V&V team and assists in product validation and testing of software prior to its release.
  • Because of the expert domain knowledge, the Global Application Specialist also provides support and assistance to customers, AGFA Sales and Services Units and development centers.
  • He/she creates training materials and delivers application trainings about AGFA Enterprise solutions offerings to customers and AGFA colleagues across the world.
  • These trainings include upgrade trainings, train-the-trainer programs, end-use trainings and configuration trainings and can be performed on AFGA premises or on customer’s site.
  • In addition, he/she is asked to perform pre-sales consultancy and demonstrations to potential customers on conferences, in-house AGFA demo centers or on customer’s site.
  • Through the support channels, the global application specialist is also available to provide expert support for specific expert matters.
  • This function is not only limited to the radiology department but will be extended to other –ology’s. 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Definition & development of validation test scripts
  • Non-medical validation and performing Verification tests
  • Creation of training manuals, outlines and other training documentation
  • Providing professional trainings to customers and AGFA colleagues
  • Assistance in the specifications analysis for products and systems together with the Product Team’s Product Managers, and other Product Team members.
  • Advice to release products, based on the results of the non-medical tests and the field trial tests according to the quality and regulatory standards.
  • Be present at important Field Trial, contribution and involvement in customer discussions, globally.
  • Preparation for & support during exhibitions
  • Willing to travel 25% to 30%

 

This role will be interacting regularly with:

 

  • Pilot customers.
  • Other V&V teams globally
  • Customers
  • Potential customers (e.g. on conferences)

 

Requirements:  

 

Education:

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Radiography, Nursing 

 

Experience:  

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the healthcare industry and high affinity with IT.

 

Skills:

  • You have knowledge of PACS/RIS, medical imaging and workflows. Experience with medical imaging, in depth knowledge of how to install and configure AGFA products and how they interact together in a solution testing environment is considered as an asset
  • You are able to quickly assimilate and understand new products, new technologies and requirements
  • Ability to self-manage your time and work in stressful situations at times, due to customer urgencies (i.e. patient care/hospitals)
  • You understand the complexity of working in a medical environment and are willing to embrace the regulatory responsibilities this holds
  • You are a team player – you are able to work together with other team members for accomplishing team-goals, you are supportive to other team members and you take into account other member’s feedback on your own work
  • You feel confident in an agile working environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French and Dutch (asset)
  • Knowledge of Healthcare standards such as HL7, Dicom, IHE
