Project Engineer Mechanical Construction

As a project engineer Mechanical Construction you will be working as a technical specialist for our production plants for printing plates (Wiesbaden, China and Brazil), Agfa-labs, our chemical plant in Heultje, ... . You will manage technical projects from A to Z and    you will be joining a dynamic and enthusiastic team of specialist within a challenging and international environment.  Your location is Mortsel (Antwerp).

Job

  • You are responsible for the design and execution of mechanical projects, in the domain of converting, cutting, slitting, packaging, webhandling, …
    You fulfill this task according to the agreed targets. (functional specifications, budget, timing, safety ,….).
  • You propose improvement projects for the existing international installations based on in-depth analysis of performance, efficiency, downtime root-cause or product quality aspects.
  • You manage projects from concept until hand-over to production.
  • In the execution of these projects you work together with and give guidance to external and internal partners.
  • You realize your projects with a maximum standardization of components.
  • You get acquainted and becomes a specialist of our installed production equipment.
  • You support local technical teams in the analysis of technical issues.
  • You provide training to the local first line responsible in your discipline.
  • You make reports of your projects on regular base and present your projects to management.
  • You make concept drawings and lay-outs in 3D Solid Works or 2D AutoCAD
  • You follow-up new trends, concepts and techniques in your domain.
  • You secure your specific knowledge by:
    • Clear, structured and transferable reporting on design and construction data and functions
    • Set up and deliver accurate construction files.
    • Investigate, put together and distribute ‘best practice’ maintenance data.

 

Profile

  • Higher technical education (Master degree) in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering or equal by experience.
  • Expert knowledge on mechanical construction.
  • Knowledge on machine regulations, machine safety, the Machinery Directive
  • Basic knowledge on general electricity, robotics, drive systems., machine automation.
  • Analytical skills to get processes under control.
  • Great affinity with production and technics
  • Accuracy, correctness and punctuality in reporting.
  • Hands on and strive for solution-oriented.
  • MS office, data management, statistical analysis
  • Knowledge on Solid Works and AutoCAD
  • Team-player and this in multicultural, international and intercontinental teams.
  • Willing to travel on regular base (25%)
  • Excellent knowledge of English. Both in speaking and writing.
  • Chinese, Dutch and/or German are a plus.
