As Electrical Design Engineer you are part of the Hardware team within the R&D Inkjet Equipment Development department. Together we work on developing and marketing state-of-the-art printers, using advanced high-tech designs.

You will be responsible for the complete electrical design of our industrial inkjet printers, ensuring that they meet all regulations and the highest quality standards.  You will start with creative brainstorming sessions, move on to thorough analysis and design, and ultimately be involved in the assembly, testing and release of the designed products.

Given the nature of your work, it is essential to maintain smooth communication with developers from other teams, the service department and the production department where our printers are assembled. Job Content

 

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Collecting, analyzing and managing technical specifications.
  • Setting up and documenting the electrical architecture (e-cabinet and cabling), followed by the layout of the schematics and all this in consultation with other domains using your design. In addition to the functional aspect, the architecture must also support efficient assembly on the production floor as well as cost-efficient field support.
  • The choice of components in your design, in which quality, deliverability and cost are important.
  • The release of the design via a structured bill-of-materials (BOM).
  • Modular thinking and the creation of building blocks that provide flexibility to the system structure, increase the stability of the design and help accelerate future realizations.
  • Working closely together with internal cross-functional teams (Regulatory Affairs, Mechanics, Service, Manufacturing... ) and external parties to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall printer design,  and this in accordance with the necessary quality and legal specifications.
  • Drafting, tracking and realizing projects within time, budget and specifications.
  • Following departmental methodology complemented by a structured way of thinking and working.

 

 

Profile

 

  • You have a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, preferably with a focus on electromechanics.
  • You have between 2-4 years of experience in a relevant development environment (industrial machinery).
  • Practical knowledge regarding the use and programming of PLCs is a plus.
  • You have demonstrable experience with electrical CAD tools. Are you familiar with E3-Zuken (electrical, panel), or ePlan? This is a plus.
  • You are highly analytical, broad-minded with an eye for detail. You are accurate.
  • You are a stress-resistant, driven, and results-oriented problem solver.
  • You can communicate and report very well.
  • You are customer focused.
  • You are willing to travel abroad from time to time for limited periods of time (customers, trade shows, training or other AGFA departments).
  • You possess the necessary social skills to function in a team.
  • You can express yourself fluently in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
