HR Manager UK & Nordic Countries

This is a great opportunity for an internationally minded candidate to take over the HR department while operating within the UK and Nordic countries.

 

From a local perspective, you are in charge of the HR Operations in line with our global tools and processes. Further, you understand the business needs and act as a liaison and sparring partner with management to ensure the best interests of the organization and its employees are being met. You’ll be an HR manager with 2 individuals reporting into you as well.

 

From a European perspective, you would be joining a diverse team that spans all European countries and has its European headquarters in Mortsel, Belgium. Reporting into our HR Director Europe and Direct Export and in close cooperation with the Branch Representatives of UK and Nordic countries, as well as with the Plant Manager of our Leeds manufacturing site, you would be the point of contact for implementing the broader HR strategy, while representing the needs of the business in parallel.

 

The UK/Nordics Region consists of a Sales and Services Organization in 6 different countries (UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland) for the Offset Solutions, Digital Print & Chemicals and Radiology Solutions business divisions and of our Manufacturing site in Leeds.

 

Your role

 

The HR Manager UK/Nordic countries provides HR support to managers and employees by deploying global HR processes and systems to achieve business results, maintaining appropriate balance between the business/global organization needs and local context.

 

  • You drive as well as operationally execute the local implementation of our employee life cycle strategy and you coach, support, and challenge our leaders in the application of HR processes
  • You are responsible for the recruitment and selection of new staff, providing them a great candidate experience, and this in collaboration with EMEA Talent Acquisition. You organize and coordinate selection interviews and are responsible for the onboarding process of new employees
  • You make compensation and reward proposals in line with global guidelines and business needs Compensation & Benefits.
  • You organize and provide individual and career development opportunities to our employees, with an eye towards the future. You actively contribute to Agfa’s cultural change project
  • You advise the organization from an employment law perspective (where required based on legal advice) and ensure compliance of the organization’s practices with applicable labor legislation and collective labor agreements.
  • You handle dialogue with social partners/works councils
  • You manage, motivate and assess the performance of a small team of HR professionals.

 

 

Profile we are looking for: 

 

  • Education to degree level (CIPD qualified) or equivalent in either HR or related business subject
  • You have a proven experience of at least 7-10 years within Human Resources and are able to demonstrate increasing responsibilities in your career so far.
  • You are able to work as part of a regional team, while at the same time having a hands-on and operational approach for local activities.  Working remotely with colleagues and managing dispersed employee groups is a familiar way of working for you. As well, you know how to constructively act within a matrix structure.
  • Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, resilient and enjoys a challenge.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels within the business. Evidently you maintain appropriate level of confidentiality at all times.
  • You have good working knowledge of labour law and health & safety legislation in UK.
  • Experience in payroll and pension fund related activity is a big asset.
  • You have good working knowledge of MS Excel and HR Information Systems

 

This role requires some travel-flexibility. Your main office location will be Ilkeston, near Derby, while working one day a week from our Leeds site. Further travel within UK or Nordic countries in line with business needs (on average once a quarter).
