Sales Manager / Business Development

This position is responsible for planning, maintaining and growing film, ink and chemistry product lines used in the printed circuit board (PCB) and printed electronics (PE) industries.  Products are sold both through distributors and through direct sales within the U.S. and Canada.  Responsibilities include identifying new sales opportunities, coordinating with distributors to optimize their success in selling Agfa products, providing technical assistance, and providing accurate forecasting, and coordinating with Agfa Customer Service.  This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, decision-making, and coordination with the U.S. manager and HQ Belgium to set policy, identify and eliminate obstacles, and establish effective sales and marketing efforts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing customer base and build strong customer relationships through phone contact, periodic customer visits, delivery of technical support/consultation, and assumption of active leadership roles.
  • Grow existing business to enhance revenue by identifying opportunities and focus on making gains in those areas.
  • Manage sales effort in the U.S. and Canada to expand revenue potential by coordination with the distributors for both PCB and PE product lines as well as with the U.S. manager and HQ (Belgium) on policy and pricing, setting direction, identifying and eliminating obstacles, training the sales team, improving marketing efforts, providing technical support, and providing a superior level of customer support.
  • Submit forecasts for inventory and production planning, generate reports on industry trends/developments, identify sales leads at trade shows (IPC APEX EXPO and PE USA) and follow up with sales strategies.  Participate in monthly teleconferences with business managers and provide quarterly reports on distributor activity. Assist from time to time with Credit and Collections.
  • Coordinate on a regular basis with colleagues to identify, prioritize and eliminate obstacles, both business and technical in nature.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 10+ years of experience in printed electronics, printed circuit boards, and sales experience.  Must have established relationships and familiarity within PCB and PE industries.

 

Experience:

  • 10+ years of technical sales selling experience
    • 8 years as Accunt Executive
    • 2 years Management capacity
  • Consistently meets and/or exceeds sales objectives
  • 3+ years working with/overseeing dealers/distributors
