Agfa HealthCare is currently looking for a Global Data Migration Architect to join its team in Canada. The Global Data Migration Architect will directly report to the Manager of Global Professional Services organization, who is currently located at Agfa HQ (Mortsel, Belgium).

 

The Global Data Migration Architect will:

 

  • Define and analyze the scope of migration in co-operation with the customer and other stakeholders (Agfa Healthcare colleagues, third parties)
  • Identify migration and quality risks, clarify with customers / third parties and mitigate.
  • Document scope to hand over to project managers worldwide, guide and coach full migration track.
  • Design and document solid migration plans and strategies,
  • Continuously help to improve our migration processes, strategies and tools with your insights, experience and passion.
  • Continuously meet or exceed the quality standards, as we are working in a Healthcare environment.
  • The candidate will coordinate all migration activities with the relevant project management teams and will efficiently communicate to provide status updates and to drive the migration projects to completion.
  • The candidate will provide expert consultation, leadership, guidance and technical assistance to our customers during pre-sales engagements in these areas.

 

The function covers all phases of HealthCare IT projects, i.e. from pre-sales to services delivery and project closure.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Take lead responsibility for the delivery of Migration Services, offered via the local Agfa organizations, for image enabled Agfa solutions (Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Enterprise Imaging): analysis, design, implementation, testing, validation and acceptance by all parties (customer, local sales organization and 3rd party).
  • Contribute to the development of Integration and Migration Services as required by the Agfa business.
  • Ensure adequate end-user support for the Integration and Migration Services and transfer the necessary knowledge to the local, regional and global service organizations.
  • Responsible for pre-sales and RFP support in relation to Integration and Migration Services.
  • Deliver pro-actively relevant technological information via the appropriate Agfa information channels (intranet, document and project management systems) to support Agfa sales organizations.

 

Education

  • Master degree in ICT, electronics, software engineering or are equally skilled through experience.

 

Experience

 

  • 5 years of experience as migration analyst, migration architect or system integration engineer, preferably in a medical environment.
  • 5 years of experience and knowledge of TCP/IP, along with other networking protocols such as NFS, CIFS, FTP, etc.
  • Experience with the IT standards (e.g. SQL, XML), the HL7 and DICOM standards, as well as with the IHE integration profiles.
  • Experience with VMware.

 

Specific skills

 

  • Familiar with software engineering and recent programming technologies (Java, C#, .NET, scripting, Web services).
  • Familiar with the most recent ICT developments: Enterprise Application Integration, Web, Operating Systems (Windows, Linux), Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server), multi-tier architectures, platform virtualization.
  • TCP/IP network and IT systems experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet business needs.
  • Excellent written communication using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint solutions.
  • Fluent in English both orally and in writing. Knowledge of other languages (Dutch, French or German) is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others with different skill/background will understand, strong presentation skills,
  • Ability to organize and conduct training for the sales and support organizations.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution.
  • Good knowledge of servers, switches, routers, and various network services
  • Strong team player who enjoys a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, commitments and projects
  • Ability to influence and drive consensus on multiple technical views
  • Self-motivated, directed and passionate
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Able and willing to travel occasionally (i.e. for specific occasions)
