Product Owner – Patient Portal


For the development of a patient portal, we are currently seeking a Product Owner to join our team in Civitanova Marche, Italy.

The portal will allow hospitals worldwide to disclose their medical imaging information with patients and physicians.  As such, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a product that empowers patients worldwide. You are eager to learn, have a strong affinity with the medical sector and are motivated knowing that what you are doing will save and improve lives.


Job summary

As product owner, you will be guiding the development team for design & implementation, in order to achieve maximum value for the business. In close cooperation and under the guidance of a solution manager, you will act as a bridge between the customer, the development team, the (pre-)sales and the service department.


Your main responsibilities are:

  • Based on a thorough understanding of the customer needs, you translate the high-level roadmap in tangeable user stories
  • For each user story, you write detailed use cases and acceptance criteria
  • On a biweekly basis, define what the development team should work on (sprint planning)
  • Validate stories and verify defects at the pace in which they are being delivered by the developers
  • Write test scenario's and perform regression tests for every release
  • Maintain functional documentation about the product
  • Participate in pre-sales (marketing) and after sales (service) activities to ensure the product is properly sold and is performing well at the customer.


You are working primarily at the office or home office, traveling is only required in exceptional cases.



Your profile

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • You have a strong affinity with the medical sector - knowledge of Medical Imaging software, RIS, PACS or Enterprise Imaging Solutions is strongly desirable.
  • Self-motivated individual with an eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • You like writing clear and complete documentation/test suites
  • You are a problem solver.
  • You are a team player
  • Experience working with an agile methodology is a bonus
  • Customer service skills, including the demonstrated ability to work constructively with both internal and external (customer) groups
  • Technical skills:
    • You have at least a basic knowledge of programming, databases and networks - prior experience as developer is an asset
    • You are willing to deepen your technical knowledge if required
    • Knowledge of Atlassian JIRA or other requirement management tools are an asset
