Agfa HealthCare is currently looking for a talented Staging Engineer to join its team in Carlstadt, NJ 

 

The Staging Engineer is responsible for implementing project designs and creates integrated turn-key IT solutions through Agfa processes, IMS procedures and product guidelines to facilitate the delivery of quality services to the customer or our Agfa regional service teamsTimely completion of customer projects is critical to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. In addition, this position requires a detailed individual to review technical configuration documents and to complete accurate paperwork to meet all Regulatory and Company compliances.

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Acts as a technical Single Point Of Contact and manages the project through all phases of its staging lifecycle including hardware, software, firmware, project design implementation, deployment and ensures sustainability and readiness for customer production usage.
  • Builds the ordered project hardware into a project solution. Installs and configures all the hardware and software components together on storage, systems and networking level. Applies the required AGFA and 3rd party applications on top.
  • Install in racks and configure servers from Oracle, HP, and others, as well as map out, run, and connect all LAN and SAN network cabling and hardware.
  • Deploys advanced healthcare IT solutions based on standard high availability and site disaster recovery scenarios. Oracle Cluster, Oracle Data Guard, storage replication, etc.
  • Identifying deployment methods, scripts, tools and processes to help the staging specialists, staging engineers and local service teams reducing operational service costs.
  • Depending on the desired HW and SW deploys advanced installations and configurations in HQ, remote or onsite locations. According to our IMS procedures and taking into account the overall quality.
  • Act as a single point of contact for the project during the staging activities and provides feedback after projects if needed.
  • Strong focus on standard and advanced but near complete customer turn-key solutions deployments.
  • Reviews and adjusts project designs if needed in accordance with corporate standards and products. Architectures, designs, IP templates and naming solutions in collaboration with the PM’s and technical contacts onsite. Informs the appropriate authorities if the installation guidelines are no longer up to date.
  • Creates and provides hand-over project documentation in the mandatory staging report.
  • Covers NCP problems such as HW component failures to the needed vendor, logs the support call. Closes the support call when new replacements arrive and are replaced. Follows the IMS NCP procedure.
  • Supports in-direct product validation for new software and hardware releases and provide feedback to the staging manager if something is not correct.
  • Solves implementation and design problems in close collaboration with other colleagues.
  • Supports local and global service teams and assists onsite engineers who are facing problems or difficulties with installations in order to achieve a perfect working solution.
  • Working together and share experience and insight with other colleagues via guidelines and on the job training.
  • Able to deploy advanced AGFA solutions on physical and virtual HA VMware environments.
  • Responsible for the safety and order of your work area.
  • Eager to learn and growth focused as a base to deploy future Agfa IT solutions.
  • Provides expert-level troubleshooting support for advanced customer shipped solutions.
  • Supports architecture, design and solution definition questions in close collaboration with the PM’s and technical pre-sales contacts
  • Performs integration, escalate internal problem resolution of systems, subsystems and components on multiple vendors and their products used in the projects. This includes but is not limited to; Barco, HP client and server infrastructure, HPE Storage systems such as 3PAR, MSA, DELL-EMC Storage systems, VMware infrastructure, Oracle servers.

 

Knowledge and skills:

 

  • Detailed knowledge of computer hardware systems and peripherals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Detail oriented.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (IT) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience:

 

  • 1- 2 years in Medical IT and system engineering and IT services delivery.
  • Knowledge in some or all of the following: VMware or Hyper-V, Oracle Databases, Microsoft SQL Databases, IIS and Active Directory, Server and client assembly, RAID levels, DICOM, HL7, HPE 3PAR Storage, DELL-EMC Unity Storage as well as networking technologies including VLAN, Zoning, DNS, (FC) switches, routers, firewalls etc.
  • Training and/or experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications.
  • Training and/or experience working with one or more structured programming languages, PowerShell, SQL, VBS.
  • Ability to integrate hardware and software systems into a customer production solution.

 

 

Other requirements:

 

  • Office: Skilled on MS office applications and related products.
  • IT-knowledge: Advanced and in-depth IT and IT workflow knowledge.
  • Technologies: (not limited to the list below)
  • Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, Symantec Ghost Solution Suite, VMware, VMware HA, VMware SRM, TCPIP, Routing, Load balancers, DNS, Active directory or ADLDS, PowerShell, fiber channel switching topologies, Brocade Fabric switching, HP server and client platforms, HPE 3PAR, DELL-EMC Unity and HPE MSA storage systems.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

 

 

Desirable: 

 

  • Agfa PACS, Agfa RIS, Agfa Enterprise Imaging for Radiology and Cardiology, DICOM, HL7, SAN, NAS, Solaris, Solaris Zones, Solaris LDOM.
