TQM Project Manager Offset

Date:  Sep 11, 2021

Mortsel, BE

For our Total Quality Management (TQM) department of the Offset division we are looking for support to our quality team for projects mainly – but not only – focusing on our production lines in China.
As Project Manager you are intensively working together with various departments and disciplines.  You have a crucial role in contacts with Application, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
Starting as a Junior Project Manager you will support the Project Managers.
Target is that you grow towards an independent Project Manager role in a time frame of 2 years.

  • You will execute projects on transferring new products from our main production site in Germany (Wiesbaden) to our Chinese production lines. The responsibility starts at the decision to transfer until the product is released for full production, accepted by all stakeholders (Manufacturing, Application, TQM, Supply Chain)
  • You will ensure and achieve the committed timings for the execution of the project
  • You will execute projects for operational improvements, process parameter changes or raw material changes in the Chinese manufacturing lines, following a secured “managing of change” project governance
  • You will support the manufacturing management in solving operational problems that might occur by performing a structured root cause analysis and by developing concepts to solve the problem
  • You will investigate customer complaints and translate the findings of the root cause analysis into solutions in the production line
  • You will monitor the operational performance of production for specific products or a product family with respect to product and time losses.

Job requirements

  • You have a degree as civil Engineer, preferably with specialization in Chemistry or Material Engineering.   Knowledge of polymer chemistry is an added value.
  • You are an outspoken team player with good communication skills.   You enjoy working in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • You are prepared to travel, especially to China.   You are prepared to stay on the project location for limited time period (weeks) if the project requires this.
  • Experience with project management and/or quality steering is an added value, but not a functional requirement.    You will be going through an extensive education and training period, supported by colleagues of the TQM department.
  • You have a wide scope of interest in chemistry, physics and engineering
  • You have a solid technical understanding of the concepts, the working principles and the product application
  • You have an active and fluent knowledge of both spoken and written English and Chinese. This will allow you to work intensively with both the HQ team and the Chinese partners. Knowledge and understanding of Dutch is a plus.

What we offer now and in the future

  • A dynamic global organization with a history of innovation and strong product portfolio.
  • A challenging environment combined with a supportive management structure.
  • Career development and growth.
  • A competitive salary and benefit package.
  • A friendly work environment surrounded by dedicated and professional colleagues.
