IT Application Engineer

As an IT Application Engineer you will be responsible for Cloud and Operations. Within the department you will be working in a dynamic environment supporting applications for the printing industry. You will participate in the development and support of Quality Assurance and Application activities for both on-premise and cloud configurations, business support and software engineering tools.

This position includes two components. A first part consists of maintaining in-house developed automation tools on one hand and automation of MS-Office applications towards business support for platform configurations on the other hand. These business tools help to put together the right product configuration for customers. The second part focuses on contributing to and further developing our cloud environments, where you are jointly responsible for setup, monitoring and third line support.

Function  

• You participate in design and validation of hardware / software (VMware) platform and cloud configurations, including order / quoting process and application support.
• You support the installed customers and the local Agfa service technicians from a Headquarters application function and form the bridge with central IT services.
• You automate data exchange between Office applications such as Excel, Access and third-party application (in Python and/or Visual Basic).
• You take care of the necessary knowledge transfer to and training of the users of these tools.
• You build up knowledge of the different Agfa products and you can translate this into the tools.

Profile

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, ICT, and can rely on previous work experience.
• You want to develop further into a broad IT profile. Today you have knowledge in one of the two parts (Hardware/Cloud) and you are open to make the other part your domain of knowledge.
• Experience with Python and Visual Basic is a plus
• You have a good knowledge of MS Windows, VMware vSphere and you are able to work with Office applications such as MS-Word and Excel, in order to provide business support for platform configurations.
• You have knowledge of writing apps and data exchange for the various Office applications (Excel, Access) in Python or Visual Basic. 
• You are familiar with environments such as PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerShell ... Knowledge of AWS, VPN setups, networking is also useful.
• You communicate fluently in English: understanding, writing, speaking.
